Dr. Thomas Ward is Chief of Infectious Diseases at the Portland VA Medical Center, and Infectious Diseases Fellowship Director and Associate Professor of Medicine at OHSU.  Dr. Ward graduated from the University of Washington Medical School, and completed his Internal Medicine residency and Infectious Diseases Fellowship at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, New York.  He is a board member of the Oregon Health Authority Antibiotic Stewardship program, board chair of the Oregon HIV Research and Education Group, and a member of the Education Committee of the American Foundation for AIDS Research (AmFAR).   His research has included scholarship on Clostridium difficile infection, surveillance and prevention of antibiotic resistance, and clinical investigation of new approaches to therapy of HIV.
