Dr. Glenise McKenzie is associate professor at OHSU School of Nursing and an associate director of the OHSU Hartford Center for Gerontological Nursing Excellence. She is passionate about promoting and maintaining the physical and mental health of older adults. Glenise teaches undergraduate and graduate nursing courses in the areas of mental health, gerontology, ethics and evidence-based practice. Her clinical experience includes over 20 years of providing care for adults and older adults in acute and outpatient psychiatric care settings, including 10 years managing a gero-psychiatric inpatient unit. Her research has focused on improving the care of individuals with dementia and on enhancing the successful translation of evidence based dementia care practices in long term care settings.
