Michelle Ryan, MD, Rheumatologist, Samaritan Health System, Corvallis, Oregon
Dr. Michelle Ryan is a rheumatologist for Samaritan Health Services in Corvallis, Oregon. She received her medical degree from the University of California, Davis and was a Rheumatology Fellow at New York University School of Medicine. In her spare time, Dr. Ryan enjoys cycling, hiking and traveling.

Stephen Setter, PharmD, CDE, CGP, FASCP, Associate Professor, Washington State University, Spokane, Washington
Dr. Stephen Setter is an Associate Professor at Washington State University campus in Spokane. Dr. Setter’s interests center on health problems found in older adults, including the pharmaceutical care of home-dwelling older adults from both a practice and clinical perspective. Dr. Setter is also a Clinical Pharmacy Consultant for Elder Services/Visiting Nurses Association of Spokane. He is a member of the WSU Geriatrics Research Team and is one of only 10 Certified Geriatric Pharmacists in the state of Washington.

Sharon Johnson is an award-winning educator and administrator. Her current faculty position at Oregon State University emphasizes teaching and applied research in the areas of family and community health, with an emphasis on aging-related issues.  She writes a column titled Healthy Aging for the Medford Mail Tribune and has a monthly community cable television program, Healthy Living.

Dr. Gail Myers is a consultant in management communication and organizational behavior.  She is the co-author of three college textbooks on interpersonal communication and managing communication issues.

Elaine Young is responsible for policy and program implementation for the Older Americans Act (OAA), Oregon Project Independence (OPI) programs and the development and implementation of the State Plan on Aging.

Linda Dreyer has extensive experience in project and grant management and a special talent for facilitating change through progressive planning, training, team building, and conflict management.

Jennifer Mead serves as a liaison between Seniors & People with Disabilities and Public Health to support health promotion and disease prevention efforts reaching older adults and people with disabilities.

Gretchen Thompson is the Nursing Program Director at Oregon Department of Human Services.  Her responsibilities include nurse delegation.

A registered pharmacist with 18 years of long term care experience, Brian Egan has also been a pharmacy consultant in skilled nursing and community based care settings.  He is an active member of the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists and past president of the Oregon Society of Consultant Pharmacists.

Mr. Broesder is a practicing attorney with an emphasis on elder law, including long-term care planning, guardianships, conservatorships, special needs trusts and probate administration. His practice focuses on solving problems for seniors and their families. Mr. Broesder has served as an adjunct professor at Southern Oregon University and is a Medford Municipal Court judge pro tem.

After completing her masters in 2000, Sandra Uesugi remained at OSU as a pesticide specialist for the National Pesticide Information Center. She moved to the Environmental Health Science Center to pursue outreach and educational interests.

Shawn Johnson, MS, CCC-SLP, Speech-Language Pathologist, Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center, Philomath, Oregon
Shawn Johnson  holds master’s degrees in both communication disorders (University of Oregon) and cognitive psychology (University of Massachusetts-Amherst).  He specializes in the rehabilitation of dysphagia, cognitive deficits, aphasia, voice disorders, dysarthria, and in the development of augmentative/alternative communication systems.  Shawn holds additional certification in Lee Silverman Voice Treatment (LSVT), which focuses on the rehabilitation of speech and voice in patients with Parkinson’s Disease and other neurogenic disorders, and in VitalStim, a rehabilitation modality in which swallowing muscles are electrically stimulated. He treats patients in both the outpatient and acute care setting at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center.

Surin Vasdev, MD, Corvallis Gastroenterology, Corvallis, Oregon
A University of London graduate, Dr. Vasdev completed his residency and fellowship in Gastroenterology at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN.  He is the Director of Samaritan Endoscopy Center and a Clinical Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology at Western University of Health Science.

He received his board certification in Neurology in 1997, and is an Associate Professor at OHSU.
